Sanctuary of Truth

Big Buddha

Wat Phra Yai, widely known as the Big Buddha Hill, crowns the top of Pratumnak Hill in Pattaya. The temple’s main attraction is an impressive golden Buddha statue—officially named Phra Buddha Sukhothai Walai Chonlathan—standing around 18 meters tall and visible from many parts of the city. The grand staircase leading up to it is flanked by striking golden Naga serpents, and the peaceful grounds feature seven smaller Buddha statues representing each day of the week, along with a pavilion adorned with beautiful mosaics.
